15th February 2013

AGM

Held in the Village Hall on Friday 15th February 2013 at 7.30 p.m.

Pat Maskrey (Chairman) opened the meeting by welcoming everyone and apologies were received from Mr and Mrs Robert Robinson. Pat introduced the Deputy Chairman of N.E.D.D.C. Janet Hill and her consort David to the meeting as guests. Pat stated that having been involved with the Society since the early days, she felt privileged to be the Chairman. Sadly, during the year there had been a number of resignations from the Trustees of the Society, and thanks were given to Margaret Richmond, Sandra and Roy Mercer and Mary Wardale for all their work and dedication to the Society. She thanked everyone for their support at meetings and to the Committee of Trustees for their hard work. As a committee there is always work being done behind the scenes - the website, archiving of photographs and other artefacts relevant to Holymoorside and district which will preserve them for future generations, hopefully to make it easier to trace one’s past. Next year will be the Society’s Fortieth, and we hope to make it a special year with the programme and AGM already organised - something to look forward to.

MINUTES OF 2012 AGM.

Held on the 18th February 2012. The minutes were read by Anne White. These were AGREED and signed by Pat Maskrey. There were no matters arising.

SECRETARY’S REPORT.

Anne White advised it had been a successful year, where meetings had been well attended. Thanks were given to Roy Mercer who had arranged the Programme. As the Chairman had already said, several Trustees had decided to step down and the Committee would like to place on record their appreciation of their contributions to the Society. The June Outing to Chester had been enjoyed by all, and we look forward to the June 2013 Outing to Stratford-upon-Avon. All members of the Committee had been busy promoting the Society during the year with an article in S40 magazine; Fun Day, Scout’s Christmas Fayre stands; URC Christmas Tree Festival and the Society’s website, together with continuing work of Archiving items relevant to the village. We continue to learn from the past and look forward to the future - notably next year which with the Society’s Fortieth Anniversary.

TREASURER’S REPORT.

Full copies of the report were on the table for everyone to look at, and Gillian Robinson reported a healthy balance. The accounts had been independently audited by Asha Brandwood, for which the Society were grateful. There were no questions and Pat thanked Gillian for her accurate Balance Sheet and Accounts which had been accepted by all members of the Trustees and independently checked and these were AGREED.

PROGRAMME SECRETARY’S REPORT.

Malcolm Groves hoped everyone was enjoying the current programme and gave an insight into the Society’s Fortieth Year Programme. This would be available for distribution at the June Outing.
